“The Village People” Relay for Life

Come down to Collingwood Oval Troode St Collingwood Park Albany this weekend and support Albany Garden’s “The Village People” team in this year’s Relay for Life for the Cancer Council.

The team have been hard at work for months fundraising and preparing to keep the baton moving in a relay walk and run overnight as well as catering at the event over the weekend for about 250 people.

Albany Gardens Lifestyle Village park residents, staff and supporters have already raised over $10,000 through park dinners, sales of produce and many other activities. Some of the park residents have been putting in over 8 hour days in order to prepare for the weekend – and many of them are in their 70′s and 80′s – what an effort!

So come on down and to get together with the community to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back against a disease that takes too much.
